"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."
This text by Martin Luther King Jr. always touches me because it has applied to so many moments in my life.
Big and small decisions. Trusting my gut without seeing the finish line.
For example, my emigration to Luxembourg. No idea what all the possible consequences could be. Listening to my gut, that's what I do. And usually it goes well and sometimes it doesn't. And when it doesn't go well, it's because I haven't listened to my gut properly. Ignored the little voice in my head. My choice to emigrate to Luxembourg is still a good one. Even if the staircase is not quite complete. And fortunately, so there are always new beautiful unexpected experiences. Or less beautiful experiences, but those teach me. And that's good too.
Stairs always intrigue me. Who all walked on them, what are the stories, where do they lead?
Our house in 'Tailor's Trail, gîte d'adventure' is full of extraordinary stairs. Quite a few people have made history on them by now. And Pascal is also touched by stairs and is always working to make our guest houses even better, more beautiful and special. So he was touched by a beautiful old staircase. Since yesterday, this staircase has taken the place of the sturdy ladder in our room Man's Cave. Do you dare to take the next step with me and book this room?
